Sping Up Your Step & Look

So now that it is apparently officially Spring but still a bit chilly in Canada, I thought I would share with you 9 items that should put some Spring in your Step and liven up your look!
Hope you like these tips!
xo

1. A Scarf is a great way to add a little color to any outfit
2. Since we may still need to wear boots why not wear a lighter colored bootie
3. A printed colorful clutch will liven up any evening look
4. A brightly jeweled statement necklace is great for day or night, dress it up or wear it casual
5. Colored pants or Jeans will for sure give you a spring fresh look
6. A bold pink lipstick  will for sure brighten up you look (day or night)
7. A colorful  tote will add a nice pop of color if worn with darker shades
8. A Peachy Pink Cream blush (can also use this one as a lip color) will give you a beautiful spring fresh glow
9. A Peachy or pink nail polish will look great next to neutrals

8 Items that will Sparkle up your Wardrobe

Now that it is November and I’m sure most of you like me have already got some holiday parties to attend, since it can be not only hard but pricey to come up with a whole new outfit for every party I thought I would put together a list of 8 items you can mix and match and wear over and over again.
Wear these items with your LBD, skinny jeans, bandage skirts, sweaters and blouses; I’m sure you might already have some of these pieces in your wardrobes.
I think these items will help liven up your wardrobes and outfits, my personal style is that I love to buy classic pieces that I can mix and match and for some wear all year round, then I love to accessorize!  I’m really all about the accessories and good color, good fabric & good cut!

I hope these items give you some good ideas for your upcoming holiday parties!

Friday Five Favs

Happy Friday readers! I for one am very happy it’s Friday not only for the weekend but to share with you my Friday Five Favs!
I hope you like them as much as I do!

1. Chanel Poudre Universelle Compacte – Natural Finish Press Powder
This press powder gives your skin a nice healthy glow and does not feel heavy.

2. NARs Lip Pencils in Roman Holiday & Bolero
I think these 2 lip colors (matte lipsticks) are 2 perfect shades of pink, wear them alone or with lip gloss.

3. Chanel Inimitable Intense Mascara
This mascara is by far one of the best (maybe the best) mascaras I have ever used, I have recommended it to many friends and clients and they were also raving about it after they tried it.  It may be a bit (maybe a lot) more then your regular drug store brand but in my opinion it is well worth it.

4. Laura Mercier Eyeshadow Base & Primer
I have been using this on myself and on my clients and we have all been loving it.  It gives a nice canvas for your eyeshadow and it is water-resistant and crease-proof.

5. Hersko Lavilin Body Lotion
Now that it is getting cold and dry out I need to make sure I put cream and lotion on everyday. This Lavilin body lotion and cream by Hersko has vitamin E, jojoba oil, pro-vitamin B5, omega 3 and sunscreen.

I hope you have liked all of my suggestions and will give one or all a try.
Let me know if you have or do try any of these products and if you have any questions.

Tara

YSL Holiday Gift Set

So I just got this YSL Holiday gift set from Sephora and it was only CA$65! (also US$65)
I love YSL makeup so much and I just thought it was such a great gift idea (for yourself or someone else) and deal that I had to share it!
You get a cute little makeup bag, a really pretty pink/gold lip gloss (everyone knows how much I adore YSL lipgloss), a Touche Éclat (something every girl needs), a mini water proof eyeliner and a mascara.
I hope you like this YSL gift set as much as I do, thanks for reading!

Fav Fragrance

Recently I have been loving the Diptyque Paris line, I have always loved their candles but now I am quit hooked on their body wash and lotions so I thought I would share it with you incase you have not tried this line yet.
It is sold in Canada at Holt Renfrew and in the USA at Barney’s (I’m sure there are other places in the USA that also sell this line)
I can not get over how beautiful the scents are it is hard to pick a favorite.
Also since their products are such good quality and have such rich fragrances you don’t need to use a lot so they should last you a little while.

5 Recent Fav Products

1. Sachajuan Ocean Mist Spray for Hair
I love this hair mist because it gives your hair that beachy look.

2. Tocca 3 Perfume Set (Stella, Florance & Cleopatra)
I like this because you are a getting a little bit of each I sometimes
find I don't finish a big bottle of perfume and these are great to pop
in your makeup bag or for traveling.

3. Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Nail Polish
I have been loving these because sometimes when I want to do a quick polish
change before I'm going out or if I need to do one at work I'm not stuck
waiting for my nails to dry for an hour!

4. RoC Enydrial Lip Balm and Hand Cream
I think these 2 products may be all I need this winter!
My skin tends to get very dry and this hand cream and lip balm seems
to be doing the trick!

5. MAC Plushglass Lip Gloss
I am in love with this lip gloss or shall I say plushglass, it is not as sticky as MAC's
lipglass and it plumps up your lips a bit without the stinging.
I have been waering it alone or mixed with lipstick.

Día de los Muertos

Happy Day of the Dead or Día de los Muertos!

Día de los Muertos is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and around the world to celebrate and remember loved ones who have passed on and it is in connection with the Catholic holidays All Saints' Day which is Nov 2.
Since a lot of people dress up and do their makeup like sugar skulls I thought it would be fun to show some of my favorite Day of the Dead/sugar skull makeup looks and also give those of you who what to try it at home a little tutorial.

Step 1:  apply white or grey cake makeup (you also don’t have to do this and can leave your face as is, it just give it more of the look/effect if you do).
Step 2: either apply a cream eye shadow or you can use a face paint in any color you like in and around the whole eye socket area.
Step 3: you can then set your makeup in your eye socket area with a powder eye shadow or shimmer shadow, you can also leave it as is, just be careful not to touch that area too much.
Step 4: outline your eye sockets with either eyeliner or face paint with dots or any other design you like. Also feel free to do any other designs on your face with the eyeliner/face paint, you could even glue on rhinestones, sparkles or sequins. You can dust yourself with a translucent powder to make sure you don’t sweat off the makeup and so it stays in place. I would also suggest lining your eyes with a black eyeliner to make them pop.
Step 5: have fun and try a couple of different looks, there are really no rules. Also don’t forget to throw some flowers in your hair.

You can buy any or these supplies at MAC, Sephora or your local Halloween costume store.
